Each summer I try to find simple, tasty, healthy hamburger recipes, but they always seem too complicated, too bland or too decadent. After much experimentation, here's the version I came up with, in the spirit of the What the Bible Says about Healthy Living Cookbook (simple, tasty, healthy). The secret ingredient? My new favorite seasoning: Herbamare. Go ahead and buy some for the pantry; I'm amazed at how much I use it when I'm not sure what seasoning to use.

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 pounds organic, grass-fed beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Herbamre

Directions:

  1. Finely chop onion and garlic and add to a large mixing bowl.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well with your hands.

  3. Shape into 8 burgers and grill until desired doneness, approximately 3 to 5 minutes per side.

Variations:

Burger variations are endless. Adding chopped spinach or other finely chopped vegetables boosts the healthy factor. Adding Feta cheese or sundried tomatoes boosts the tasty factor. If you prefer, substitute ground turkey for the beef.
